Our mission

The mission of the Chinook community is to promote an environment of achievement, cooperation, respect, compassion and accountability for all. Our vision is for every Chinook student to be a responsible, productive citizen and a caring, lifelong learner.

Our history

Chinook opened its doors in fall 1992 and marked a new era of technologically advanced school construction.

Other historic moments:

2000-2001 — A transitional first-grade program is piloted at Chinook and three other elementary schools.

2004 – Chinook is among three schools in the district that pilot a recycling and composting program.

2005 – Chinook receives a $5,000 grant to develop a Confluence Art project to celebrate the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition.

2007 – Chinook pilots Yamaha keyboards to enhance the Music in Education program.

Fall 2009 – Chinook is one of nine district schools to receive Energy Star Awards for energy efficiency from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
